Benefits of Goats Milk

The summer heat can be harsh on your dog’s skin and coat. In addition to heat, bugs and other pests such as mosquitos, gnats, and ticks can irritate the skin causing itching and hives. Constant itching can remove fur from a dog’s coat, and even break the skin which can lead to bacteria getting in those small cracks. Aside from pests, allergies and hotspots are other known culprits that lead to excessive itching. If you see your dog constantly itching, licking, or chewing his coat, this may be a symptom of dry skin.

Benefits of Goat's Milk

Since many dogs suffer from itchy skin, we decided to make specially formulated goats milk products to combat the issue.

Benefits of Goat’s Milk

Goat’s milk packs a powerful blend of vitamins, amino acids, and fatty acids that stand up to the effects of dry skin. Most goat milk contains vitamin A, B, C, and E. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble antioxidant, vitamin B is a powerhouse that keeps the body in good health, and vitamin C repairs and regrows tissue. Lastly, vitamin E is known for repairing damaged tissue and scars, as well as hydrating and moisturizing skin and hair.

Many commercial grade soaps kill both fatty acids and glycerin. Goat’s milk uses the acids and turns them into a moisturizing agent. Fatty acids in the soap provide a creamy and soft feel, which in turn helps with hydration. Glycerin is a byproduct of making soap. It attracts moisture to skin, and is found in most handmade soaps and lotions. When commercial soaps kill fatty acids, they are also killing glycerin. This is why skin might feel dry and stiff after using a commercial soap product.
